Sensex Soars 1,718 Points, Nifty Crosses 25,000: 4 Reasons Behind Today's Market RallyStock Market TodayI: ndian equity markets delivered another strong performance on Friday, November 6, extending their winning streak to seven consecutive trading sessions. The BSE Sensex gained 1,718 points, or 2.17%, to settle at 81,028.02. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty 50 advanced 494 points, or 2.01%, closing at 25,030.35.

The rally came despite weakness across global markets, where technology stocks faced heavy selling pressure amid concerns over tighter regulation of the artificial intelligence (AI) sector.

According to market experts, strong foreign investor buying, easing crude oil prices, a stronger rupee and encouraging corporate earnings helped Indian equities outperform their global peers.

Why Did the Indian Stock Market Rally?

1. Strong Return of Foreign Institutional Investors

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) made a significant comeback to Indian equities. Provisional NSE data showed net purchases worth approximately ₹14,975 crore on Thursday, marking one of their strongest single-day buying sessions in recent years.

Foreign investors continued purchasing Indian shares throughout the trading week. This renewed interest helped improve market sentiment and supported the broader rally.

2. Global AI Stocks Face Heavy Selling

Global technology shares came under pressure as investors reassessed the outlook for AI companies following political developments in the United States.

The Nasdaq reportedly dropped around 6%, while South Korea’s KOSPI plunged more than 9%, triggering a circuit breaker. Concerns about possible regulatory restrictions on AI companies added to investor uncertainty.

As global investors reassessed their exposure to technology stocks, Indian equities attracted attention as an alternative investment destination.

3. Large-Cap Stocks Lead the Recovery

Large-cap shares played an important role in Friday’s market rally. After facing selling pressure earlier in the year, several major companies are now attracting investor interest because of their comparatively attractive valuations.

However, despite the recent recovery, both the Sensex and Nifty remain below their previous record highs.

4. Strong Corporate Earnings Support Sentiment

Better-than-expected quarterly results also contributed to the positive market mood. Mahindra & Mahindra was among the top Sensex performers, with its shares rising more than 5% after reporting encouraging second-quarter results.

Brokerage firm Nomura maintained its positive outlook on the automaker, citing its upcoming product pipeline and business prospects.

Overall, strong earnings, renewed foreign investment and improving domestic market sentiment helped Indian benchmarks extend their winning streak.

Market Outlook: Investors will continue monitoring foreign fund flows, crude oil prices, currency movements, global technology stocks and upcoming economic data to assess whether the rally can sustain its momentum.
