The iQOO 16 was recently launched in China, and now there are growing indications that the smartphone could also make its way to the Indian market. According to a tipster on X, the device has reportedly entered testing in India, suggesting that an official launch could take place in the coming weeks.
The biggest question for Indian buyers, however, is likely to be the phone’s price. In China, the iQOO 16 starts at CNY 5,999, which is approximately INR 86,000 or $894. If the device receives a similar positioning in India, it could enter the premium flagship segment.
However, the expected Indian price could be significantly higher. The tipster claims that the iQOO 16 may be launched at around INR 100,000 ($1,039). Such pricing could make the smartphone a challenging option to consider, particularly because its predecessor was launched in India at INR 72,999 ($759) around a year ago.
iQOO 16 Specifications
Despite the possible price increase, the iQOO 16 offers a high-end specifications package. The smartphone features a large 6.85-inch Samsung-made M16 AMOLED display with a 1440×3168 resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of up to 10,000 nits.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. It is expected to be available with 12GB or 16GB of RAM, while storage options include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
For photography, the iQOO 16 comes with a 50MP primary camera featuring OIS, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with OIS and 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide camera with autofocus. For selfies and video calls, there is a 32MP front-facing camera.
iQOO 16 Battery and Charging
The smartphone packs a large 8,400 mAh battery, which should offer substantial endurance for demanding users. It also supports 100W wired charging and 40W wireless charging.
On the software side, the iQOO 16 runs Android 17 with OriginOS 7. With its flagship chipset, high-refresh-rate display, advanced camera setup, and large battery, the phone is positioned as a premium performance-focused smartphone.
The final Indian launch date and official pricing are still important details to watch. The actual India price may differ from the current estimates once iQOO officially announces the device.
