Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) shareholders could receive complimentary shares of Jio Platforms Limited after the company is separately listed on the stock exchanges. The proposed listing could also help unlock additional value for existing RIL investors by giving Jio Platforms an independent market valuation.
Reliance Jio IPO Expected Soon
Reliance Jio is expected to enter the public market through an Initial Public Offering (IPO). However, the listing is expected to take place through Jio Platforms, the holding company that oversees Jio’s key businesses, rather than Reliance Jio being listed as a standalone entity.
The Reliance Jio IPO has remained one of the most closely watched potential IPOs in the Indian stock market. In 2025, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), had indicated that Jio Platforms was planned to be publicly listed during the first half of 2026.
Jio IPO Could Unlock Value for RIL Shareholders
The separate listing of Jio Platforms Limited could create a new opportunity for existing Reliance Industries Limited shareholders. Under the proposed arrangement, RIL shareholders are expected to receive complimentary shares in Jio Platforms once the company is independently listed.
A separate listing could also make the value of Jio’s businesses more visible to the market. At the same time, an independent Jio Platforms could have greater flexibility to raise additional funds from investors for future expansion and business growth.
Reliance Jio IPO Price Band
According to analyst estimates, Reliance Jio shares could be offered through the IPO within a price band of Rs 1350 to Rs 1450. The company is also expected to command a post-listing valuation in the range of $130-170 billion USD.
The upcoming IPO is reportedly aimed at raising around Rs 37,700 crore from the market. However, the final price band, issue size, valuation and other IPO-related details will depend on the official announcement and regulatory filings.
